By popular demand, here are some pictures of the house that I'm buying, taken during the home inspection. Click the thumbnails to view the full-size picture in a separate window.
Here's the house.
The front yard, showing a little bit of actual color.
The front door.
Standing at the front door, the first thing you see is the stairs... living room is to the immediate left, dining room in the back and to the left, and just to the right of the stairs is a short hallway leading to the family room and beyond.
View from the entry to the immediate left.
View of the dining room from the entry (note the cathedral ceiling in living & dining rooms).
Standing in front of the stairs, looking to the right towards the family room.
Working around to the left of the stairs, a view of the dining room and plant shelf.
From the dining room, we can proceed to the kitchen, breakfast nook, and family room.
Standing in the dining room, looking through the kitchen at the family room in the distance.
Reverse angle, looking at the kitchen & dining room while standing in the family room. Gas cooktop is on the far wall to the right of the passage to dining room; sink and dishwasher are on the right-hand wall. Also note from the placement of kitchen cabinets, the downstairs has 10-foot ceilings except in living & dining rooms.
Looking across the kitchen island at the walk-in pantry (left), microwave & conventional oven stack (center), and refridgerator space (right).
The breakfast nook and sliding door to the back yard, from the kitchen.
Panning around to view the family room from the kitchen.
Standing in the nook, looking into the family room. The hallway in the back left leads to the downstairs bedroom (that'll be an office), full bathroom, laundry room, and garage. Gas fireplace is in the center, with a wet bar to the right, and the hallway leading back to the entry/living room just to the right of the wet bar. There is also a coat closet in that hallway leading to the entry.
Reverse angle of family room, standing next to the wet bar.
This picture doesn't really show the size of the downstairs bedroom well, but note from the pictures above that the bedroom spans the full width of the far wall in the family room.
Standing at the window in the bedroom, looking towards the hallway. Again, note the high ceilings from the top of the 7-foot door.
Standing at the bedroom doorway, looking down the short hallway towards the door to the garage. Full bath is on the left, with laundry room across the hall on the right.
Here's the bathroom, with full tub/shower behind the door.
Laundry room with cabinets, directly across from the bathroom.
The laundry room also has a nook with wash basin.
The 3-car garage with existing storage shelves. This is looking towards the 1-car bay.
The other side of the garage (2-car bay), with additional storage & workbench area on the side.
Back inside, looking up the stairs again with a tiled niche at the landing.
Just coming up the stairs, we can see a small loft area to the right, with the 2nd bedroom next to that. There is a 2nd full bathroom to the left of the bedroom, and the master suite is around the corner to the left.
The loft space from the top of the stairs.
Looking down from the loft at the entry/living room.
Looking down from the loft at the stairs & dining room.
The view from the back of the loft.
The 2nd bedroom (guest room) is fair sized. There are ceiling fans in all bedrooms, and the family room.
The sink area in the 2nd bathroom.
Separate toilet & tub/shower area in the 2nd bathroom.
Looking from the loft/hallway area towards the stairs (on the left) and double-door entry to master suite directly ahead. Linen closet is visible to the right.
From the entry into the master suite, looking to the left.
Panning to the right, the small sitting area is visible.
Continuing to the right, the sitting area and pass through to master bath & closet area.
Contining around to the right, looking back at the entry.
Master bath with double vanity, and separate tub & shower.
Shower, separate toilet, and entry to walk-in closet.
Cabinet area next to the entry to the closet.
First section of the walk-in closet, from the entry.
A few steps into the closet, looking to the left. The closet is nearly the size of my current bedroom.
Looking back at the double vanity/passage to master bedroom.
Jumping down to the back yard -- showing the sliding glass door from the breakfast nook, and the covered patio. The windows on the second floor are in the sitting area of the master bedroom.
The place comes with a small jacuzzi.
Looking to the right from the sliding door. Apart from the concrete/tiles, the ground cover is mostly made up of decorative rock, there is no actual grass in the back yard.
Panning to the left from the sliding door, there is a utility shed in a fenced-off corner of the yard.
Looking to the left from the sliding door.
Panning a bit to the right from the previous shot. It is difficult to see from this picture, but that's not grass on the ground -- it's leaves/tree litter from surrounding greenery. There are rocks underneath. That's my realtor's wife sitting on one of the benches.
And that concludes our virtual tour!
