Last weekend I was visiting Portland, and it was a typical, rainy, 60-ish few days.
Today in Vegas, the official high was 97.

NINETY-FRICKIN-SEVEN!!!!
And it's still April. Yikes.
I've always said that the very best times of year to visit Vegas are early April and late September. The weather can't be beat then. But if you come any later in the Spring, or any earlier in the Fall, you just might run into triple-digits.
Oh well. At least, as they say, it's a DRY heat. Yeah, it's a cliche, but it's actually true. I'm much more comfortable at 97 degrees in the desert than I am at 80 degrees in Portland humidity. And don't get me started on the Gulf Coast, where I've experienced 95 degrees and 95 percent. Yucko.
